Partner Workshop: Senior Living Transition Planning
When: May 6th
Time: 12 noon to 130 pm
For many seniors, aging in place in the family home may not be the safest or most appropriate living option. Whether a change is driven by increasing care requirements, overwhelming house and yard work or simply the desire for more socialization, a move to a senior living community can be a good option. However, this kind of move is never just a move; it is more of a transition. The purpose of this roundtable is to discuss some best practices for your clients around the following topics:
Provide a basic understanding of estate planning recommended for later-life transitions, outlining why it's important and the essential tools to avoid guardianships, maximize available benefits, and protect assets from scammers, judgments, and long-term care costs.
Discuss the basics of the Art of Downsizing
Long Term Care Insurance Claims
We will discuss the challenges that long-term care insurance policyholders have when they attempt to make a claim. There are many families that do not realize the unintended consequences of the major mistakes they can easily make when attempting to file a claim on their own. We’ll go through some of the biggest mistakes that are commonly made as well as how to guide your clients when it comes to long-term care claims and maximizing their benefits to preserve their wealth.
Choosing a Senior Living Community
How to factor in Care Capability, Social Interests and Cost to choose the community that best fits your needs now and in the future.
